She just never really interested me. She was new to the team and so she was the one with the ~heart~ and the ~humanity~ and i just found that quite dull
(and also, I didn’t see it myself, aside from the first case where she stuck pictures of the sex alien victim everywhere. Unless having an affair with owen counts)

I didn’t hate her, I just didn’t care for her, made all the more annoying by the fact that she was the Main Character and we followed her about everywhere.

In Miracle Day, when she admitted that she loved being in Torchwood, that she felt better than everyone else… I loved that. She was suddenly broken, believable and, weirdly, likeable.
I didn’t really understand the “nice”. It never seemed real.

She did grow on me as the show went on, of course, but Miracle Day was the first time that I realised that I actually liked rather than tolerated her.
She wasn’t the new girl any more, she was one of the survivors and she would run around with a baby in one arm and a gun in the other hand because this is Torchwood and it is daft.
